1) do you have topic sentences throughout your commentary?
2) do you set the context for the entire piece?
3) do you introduce the line # properly and effectively?
4) do you have line numbers in your commentary?
5) do you comment on the given lines, what they mean and how they are referenced in the poem?
6) do you comment on the entire poem or just your stanza? Notice the different patters operating and how they either work together or simultaneously.
